Technology can be an enabler in this situation. A very fine example: Saint Gabriel’s Secondary School (where I’m doing my teaching practice at) leverages on the Civil Service Cards that all teachers are issued it. When permanent teachers at the school scan their cards to gain access into the Staff Room in the mornings when they arrive, they also ‘mark’ their attendance electronically at the same time. When they leave, it’s just a simple ‘beep’ to sign out of school. It’s a very efficient and effective system that all schools should adopt.
“I’ve always failed to understand why more human resource departments don’t insist on ‘upward’ appraisals, where staff are asked to assess their bosses.”
i don’t understand why allen ooi’s suicide is such big state news. Hundreds of youths die everyday.
